Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Lost Chord UK: Our Commitment to Safety & Wellbeing
At Lost Chord UK, the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our interactive music sessions-particularly vulnerable adults, children, and the wider community- is our highest priority. We are deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and joyful environment where music can be enjoyed without fear or harm.
Our safeguarding policy reflects our dedication to protecting everyone who comes into contact with our charity, from people living with dementia and other neurological conditions to their families, carers, volunteers, and musicians.
What Does Safeguarding Mean to Us?
Safeguarding is more than a policy-it’s a core value woven into every aspect of our work. It means: Protecting the rights and wellbeing of vulnerable adults and children. Preventing abuse, neglect, and exploitation through vigilance, training, and proactive action. Empowering our team with clear guidelines to recognise, respond to, and report concerns effectively. Collaborating with care homes, community groups, and professionals to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding.
Who We Protect
- Children: Anyone under 18 years old.
- Vulnerable Adults: People over 18 who may require additional support due to dementia, age, illness, or disability.
