The Lion King comes to Sheffield to help Lost Chord celebrate 15th anniversary
Musical lovers can see the Lion King when he comes to Sheffield to help dementia charity Lost Chord celebrate its 15th anniversary.
West End star Roger Wright – who played the original Simba in the London production of Disney hit The Lion King – will top the bill for a special evening of music at St Marie’s Cathedral, in Sheffield city centre on Thursday, December 18, at 7pm. He will be joined by some of Lost Chord’s leading professional musicians and the choir and orchestra from Sheffield High School as they perform Christmas favourites, classical hits and musical melodies. Helena Muller, Lost Chord chief executive, said: “We are so excited that a performer of the calibre of Roger is joining us for this evening that not only celebrates Christmas, but also marks the culmination of our 15th anniversary celebrations.
“Together with some of our top professional Lost Chord musicians and the talented youngsters of Sheffield High School, this is going to be a magical and memorable start to Christmas for our guests.” Tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door, including mulled wine and mince pies.
