A Tribute to Phyliss

Here is a picture of Phyliss Love and her husband during their long courtship. Phyliss left school at 14 in 1943 and married Brian in 1949.

Phyliss spent the last two years of her life at the Abbey’s Care home where she really enjoyed Lost Chord’s regular visits. She suffered from mixed Alzheimer’s and Frontal Lobe Dementia, which increasingly affected her ability to move around safely and join in activities, or more recently recognise family members. That’s why Lost Chord was of great benefit to her, helping to resurrect memories of her lifelong enjoyment of popular and classical tunes which she shared with her late husband Brian. She continued to respond positively to music even in her final weeks. The family therefore were delighted to support Lost Chord with a donation of £135 instead of flowers at her funeral.
