Thanks to the quick thinking and determination of a few dedicated parents, a group of children came together to share their joyful songs at the Wales Kiveton Soup and Song Christmas event. More than 100 people of all generations gathered to enjoy a heartwarming afternoon of music, laughter, and connection, creating memories to last a lifetime.
The audience was captivated not only by the children’s energetic and moving performance but also by the extraordinary talents of Lost Chord UK professional musician Luke Carver Goss, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, who kept the festive spirit alive. Volunteers Pete Dye and Gill Goodrich helped lead the audience in interactive singalongs, with Pete singing a solo – ensuring everyone felt part of the celebration.
Another standout moment came when Ashley from Greencore delivered a heartfelt rendition of White Christmas, bringing a sense of warmth and nostalgia to the event. The children’s songs lifted spirits, while the entire afternoon highlighted the incredible power of music to bring people together during what are for many challenging times.
Jean Collingwood, Chief Executive of Lost Chord UK, shared her thoughts on the event:
“Music has an amazing ability to connect people and bring joy, even in the most difficult circumstances. This event perfectly captured the true spirit of Christmas, with children and adults across all ages coming together to create something truly special.”
This memorable afternoon is a testament to the resilience and generosity of the local community, as well as the dedication of Lost Chord UK to improving the lives of people with dementia and other neurological conditions through music.
