Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association raise £1,000 for Lost Chord
MEMBERS of the Roche Abbey branch of the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association in Firbeck have raised £1,000 for leading South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord.
Lost Chord, which has its headquarters at the Wesley Centre in nearby Maltby, is the organisation that provides vital interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres across the region and nationally.
And a highly successful Coffee Morning at Firbeck Village Hall by members of the YCA Roche Abbey branch, led my Helen Taylor, will make a valuable contribution to the funding of Lost Chord musical events in coming months.
“We are delighted that the YCA put so much enthusiasm into their fundraising for us,” said Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller.
“It is only thanks to the dedication and hard work of supporters like this that we can continue to maintain our programme of year round events – not just in Yorkshire but around the country. “However, this donation will go directly to helping people with dementia in and around the community of Roche Abbey.
“Using our team of young professional musicians to engage with people living with dementia makes a real difference to their lives through the power of music.”
